WHAT'S THE PEBBLE PROJECT?
When a pebble is tossed into a pond, it creates a ripple effect.
Launched in 2000, the Pebble Project is a research effort between The
Center for Health Design (a nonprofit research and advocacy
organization) and leading healthcare providers. The purpose is to
provide research and documented examples of healthcare facilities whose
design has made a difference in the quality of care and financial
performance of the institution.
It is named the Pebble Project because "like a pebble thrown into water, the research creates a ripple effect in the healthcare community."
The project allows organizations to learn and share how the care environment improves patient outcomes.
